A Tough True Love
by Alyssa Varsanyi
"The most important things are the hardest things to say." She said softly as she placed her head against her fiance's shoulder.
"What's on your mind?" he asked. They had been together for three years- and when they met they knew it was love at first sight. You could see it each of their eyes; how they shined and dazzled as they saw each other. She was the most beautiful woman he's ever seen.
The time they spend together was wonderful. They sat in the park and had a picnic, they had meals together, and went for walks. They sat on the swings and smiled at each other. They had sat under the stars, laughing at their patterns; He had proposed that night. She had accepted, a tear in her eye. Each of them were too young to notice and too dumb to care about what was ahead of them.
She gulped. Afraid to tell him, afraid. This was the hardest thing she ever had to say. She started to cry and hugged him. As she looked up she finally got the words out.
"Can I tell you a terrible thing?" His eyes widened in fear.
"Seems that I'm sick..." He hugged her hard.
"and I've only got weeks." He started to cry more and hug her harder. She was weeping--
"Please don't be sad now, I really believe you were the greatest thing that happened to me."
They both fell to their knees and sobbed in each others arms. They were the most important things to each other, and that fact would never change."

"That is why I am telling you son, because in life there's some awful things that happen. I never want it to happen to you." He said as he touched his son's soft hair.
"When I was your age all I could think of is finding true love. That's when I found your mom." He had started to cry as his son did too.
