Vintage Photo

When the shot is fried and the dogs dash, the musher will jump onto the sleigh.  Dogs will be panting and the people being pulled will be determined to win.  All five of the dogs; Rain, Ice, Tree, Cap, and Snow will all move as fast as their legs can take them.  After miles and miles of pulling the sleigh the dogs will take a short break.  The humans rewarding them with food.
Being a dogsled dog is hard work, but they seem to enjoy it anyways. The thrill of going as fast as they can and seeing which does pulls most.  Competition for the dogs and the humans as well.  It's fun sport to do in Alaska, and like no other southern spot.  A crowd comes to watch as the dogs finish, and they clap and hoot and holler with Alaskan pride.
This picture is of a dog sled team.  It could maybe be practicing for a race, or a method of transportation, or in the end of a race when the dogs seem to take a rest. In the photograph a child is sitting in the front of the sleigh.  It could be perhaps be his first time dog sledding!
This picture is worth words to me because it is taken of a unique sport that is mostly popular in the north. Dog sledding is a team sport if you think about it; there's the human who is the team leader, and then there's all of his dogs.  The way they treat their dogs is one huge advantage or disadvantage to their racing skills.  There are many stories that can be told with this one picture, and each dog can have a story of it's own. The sled, people, dogs, and scenery all tells a different story.
