Opinion Prompt 8 - Skinny models are setting a bad example for teenagers.

I completely agree that skinny models are setting a bad example for teenagers because a lot of teenagers have eating disorders such as anorexia, or being bulimic.  Speaking from experience; when teenage girls flip through a magazine they compare themselves to what the models look like. They're models, therefore they're pretty and therefore if you don't look like them that makes you think bad of yourself.   A barbie is a great example of a bad skinny model -- in the 90's they had curves and now they are basically very skinny and unhealthy! This is a bad example for the kids which probably contributes to their mindset when they are teenagers.  In health in 7th grade, I remember learning how skinny models were a bad example for kids my age at the time.  Some girls dream to be models and they think the only way they can get that way is by becoming unhealthy skinny.  They think that being skinny is the only way they'll be loved, or not be made fun of.  Because society is harsh, and society says that being fat is gross, and some people take that a bit too far which is so awful.  When people become too skinny they need to get therapy, or be hospitalized if it gets too bad.  If people don't eat then they will most likely have trouble down the road health wise; and this is why I believe skinny models are a bad example for teenagers.
